something to ponder

I was talking to Dad and he asked me a question. The H.pylori is back and as I get ready for another round of meds he asked "what happens if the pylori becomes resistant to the meds? Can they just remove your stomach and be done with it?" Sounds extreme I'm sure but whats considered extreme when it comes to this bacteria that probably killed my mom and likely will never fully go away? Its given me serious food for thought.
