Door painting, kitchen kitsch and whatever else.

ELSIE galloping to the moon on the bouncy horse.
Girls and carrots. I love that they do this, just sit there and eat carrots.
These may not look that great, mostly because I was impatient and put the filling in before the cookies were properly cooled but they tasted fantastic. Fist sized peppermint oreo cookies. Wow. I will definitly make these again and try to be alittle more patient. You can find the recipe here at http://www.joythebaker.com/blog/2009/12/chocolate-peppermint-sandwich-cookies/
Hers are much prettier to look at, girls got skills.

My citrus cupcakes with vanilla buttercream frosting for Asia's Bday party.
My huge pile of napkins that I am very proud of. I now have enough to last even if I have people over and haven't done laundry in a week. Yay because I hate laundry.
This is the cheesieness that has happened to the open doorway in the kitchen. I love it. You could imagine it in a 50's kitchen. I thought for sure Sean was going to hate it but no he actually really likes it. Boy am I lucky. In the lower photo you see Boo boo's little hand cleaning something. She Loves to clean, even if I can't get her to clean her room she delights in cleaning the baseboards and who am I to not let her?  We buy her as many wipes as she wants.
The front door going out to the artic entry. I've done more to it since but I'll post that in the finale of doors.
Stage 1 Guadalupe door
stage 2
stage 3
I'll be excited when this one is done. I have to force myself to focus and not start any other projects because it will sit half finished for months.
Sean says our house is like a mexican inspired Pee Wee's play house, fortunately as I say all the time he doesn't mind it. Poor guy, when I met him he liked traditional white walls. Ha, good luck with that one. I remember as a young girl my dad saying he couldn't wait to see my house when I got to be a adult because my taste are so eclectic. Imagine How crazy it would be if I had money to spend on it. A classier mexican pee wee's play house? I doubt it. Maybe if I lived someplace tropical and colorful on its own I wouldn't mind clean white walls, my world would already be saturated in color. This though is Alaska where its so dark and cold for so long I just don't know how people do it without color.
Anyways, The girls have been sick for about a weeks now. Poor buttons, spiking fevers followed by stuffy noses and coughs. Next week is spring break. I am really excited about this because I get them all home for alittle over a week. I don't care what anyone else says I love having my girls around me all the time. I miss them when their at school but luckily for them I am not up tot he task of homeschooling.
I have 2 doors left to paint, then this summer I want to change the color of my living room to a light soft teal watery color.
Heres another project in the works, I saw it and fell in love right away. Tell me what you think.
and big fat floor pillows, I want those too. I know its kinda collegish but I don't have room for alot of extra chairs around here. Remember family of 5 in a 950sq ft house.
Love love love to you all. Hope you are all living beautiful lives and gearing up for spring.
