Alright guys...

I know its been alittle while but to tell you the truth I am slumping and I am slumping hard. I don't know if it has to do with coming back into the reality of kids outta the house during the day, the $$ problems, the dark the whatever, maybe all of it, but I hit a wall. I don't want to cook, I'm tired and irritable and dang just somewhat depressed. Anyways, I have made a few things and when I get the motivation to load them I'll do it but for now I've got nothing. It'll pass soon I'm sure and I'll be bopping around again. We all have these times right. Big love as always

The last days of xmas break.

Okay, no this is not the last days of break. This is my breakfast this morning. Thanks to my cousin Asia I am all about learning how to poach an egg. I will perfect it sometime but for now...the experiments are still yummy.

PIONEER WOMAN DINNER ROLLS

I tried to get my man to take some pics of the part where you assemble the rolls but you put a camera in his hands and its all boob shots. Sorry but its true. I made the rolls a few weeks ago for a crab dinner we were having and they were so good I had to make them again. I do knead them alittle though. Maybe I just can't resist since kneading is one of my favorite parts of making any bready thingy. I also had extra dough left over so......

I made this bread. which made.....

This rasberry yogurt bread pudding with alittle of that strawberry glaze from that cake cooked in it.

and this was breakfast on Sunday.

STUFFED PEPPERS

easy peasy. brown some ground beef + onion, rice, diced tomatos. Cumin, salt, red chile (of course)
and....hello, garlic. I also put some monteray jack cheese in it and I used to use lentils as well which was actually pretty dang good, I should do that agian. So mix it and stuff some halved peppers. I used to cook the peppers in oil before I cut them up and maybe I'm wrong but I think this is not needed. Sure it leaves them bright green with pretty brown spots but you know...I'm not so much about presentation as I am taste.

Pre cook peppers and....

GREEN CHILES!!!!!! These are soooooo good. Throw some cheddar on the peppers and chiles and cook em up in the oven for awhile. To die for.

DRAWINGS

Boo's mermaid people.

Denali's SUPER Bear

Boo's picture of our wedding. She doesn't know that they weren't there. She also added in Cousins Juniper and Asia.

THE KIDS

This girl cracks me up

and obviously herself as well. Monkey

She must have been up to something. This area of the kitchen is where I keep my cinnamon sugar and I've found her all sugared up with cinnamon all over herself more than a few times.

This is from this very morning. Snowing, big fat flakes of beautiful snow

SEAN

This is purely for my entertainment. I do it because I can, and hey he let me take his picture, does he really think I'm not going to use it?

Well there you have it. In the 2 hrs it took me to load these $#@&... photos, I have had a lolli pop, popcorn and a emergen-c. I am also amazed with the air popper Asia left here. I am used to popping corn on the stove in a big stock pot with oil, shaking the hell out of it. I don't have to do that with the air popper and I know now that I will have to get one because we LOVE popcorn around here. Its a curse from my childhood. Massive metal mixing bowls of buttered popcorn and nothing else will do.
I guess thats my cue to get off my butt and go work off some of this food by shoveling the drive way. It seems the better I get at cooking the more I wanna work out so I can keep on eating the good food I cook.
So, big LOVE to you all.

because.....

Okay, its 9:36 am and my kids just busted me eating cake right off the cake plate while they were eating breakfast. " Why are you eating that mama?" asked Boo Boo " Because I'm mama...." I said slightly unsure. Everytime I say that I am slightly unsure, one day they'll catch on and know that that is neither a reason nor a exceptable answer.....but for now, yummy cake in the morning with my coffee. Evil mama. I've got more pics of course, like I said earlier of food and kids and life around here. Its been about 3 degrees out so we've been playing games, cooking painting and making new years eve crowns of course.....and playing in the new tree tent which is currently holding my living room hostage, but they love it and I had wanted to get it for them. So thanks Auntie Shawn for the big pain in the ass tree tent in my living room, The girls' love it!

So first lets go with the kiddos

Denali LOVES back yard sledding.

This is that pain in the @$& tent that we ADORE!!! Elsie wants to be in it all the time and come on....
how much cuter can it get?

Boo had fun making the New Years Eve crowns but didn't want to wear it. She is visibly unhappy and trying to squirm out of the thing but I really wanted a picture. This will do.

Denali's crown!!

Elsie also was very proud of her crown. Well 2 outta 3 ain't bad.

Mama + El crowns

NOW FOR THE EDIBLES!!!

This is yeast, all cozy in some warm H20.

+ some flour, salt, sugar
AND

Cheap BEER!
Sean nearly has a heart attack everytime I cook with beer
Hahaha and I did it 2 times on New years eve.
But you know what...it was good.

Anyways, mix it. I let it mix for about 10 min. Oil a metal bowl or something and let the dough rise for about 2 hrs. Heat the dutch oven in a 425 oven, make sure the pan is hot hot hot. Stick the dough in it and cover it, cook for about 20 min. then uncover and cook for about 15min more and ....

YOU"VE got bread glorious bread. Your family will wolf thtis down so quick You'll have to stay close in case of choking.

CANDY CANE CANDY

This is just what I do with any left over candy canes from xmas. Its uber yums!

CAKE

Take some strwberries and leave them in sugar over night and this is what will happen to them

Pre cook cake just so you can see the strawberries that have been mixed with alittle strawberry jam swirled into the cake mix
